Mite House Hockey
The focus for Mite House is to teach and develop the basic skills of skating, puck handling, shooting and passing. Players will participate in a weekly skills session utilizing stations to develop these skills. Each team will play a weekly game against another Mite House team in the program on the studio or cross-ice on the main rink to maximize ice utilization, increase puck touches and increase the competition. This also is just more fun! Players will be evaluated and placed on a team at the beginning of the season to ensure balanced teams. No friend requests are allowed, as we will create teams to have balanced play during games.
Ages
Mite House is for players 5 to 8 years old. Players should have previously participated in Mini Mite House or a Learn to Skate program at the Wilmette Park District.
When
The House Mite season runs from mid-October through the end of February.
Evaluations will be held on October 12, 2024 at 10:10 a.m. for House Mites. The following weekend, the season will start.
Where
Skills and cross-ice or studio ice games are usually held at Centennial Ice Rink in Wilmette.
